Trolling Motor Smart Batteries

Ushering in the first real change in marine batteries since the inaugural Bassmaster Classic in 1971, K2 Energy announced the release of its newest line of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries for marine use. The first in the series available to the public, the group 27 sized Extreme Angler with an amazing weight of only 19 pounds compaired to a lead acid unit of the same group size weighing over 45 pounds !   This will set a new standard in the industry and provide a better choice for fishing hobbyists and professionals. This unique Lithium Ion battery has a built in LED power indicator along with a manual on/off switch and a needed 'Auto Shut Down system to shut the battery off to avoid sparking if hooked up wrong or if metal happens to fall between the pos/neg posts.

Preorders for the Extreme Angler should be made as soon as possible at K2’s online store, as demand for available inventories will be strong during initial production and release.

“Pro fishermen are asking for better batteries,” said Cameron DeVries, K2 Energy Business Development Manager. “We are responding with batteries that are lightweight, longer lasting and more environmentally responsible.”

Billy Briere Fishing

February 3

Wow!!! These batteries are outstanding. I'm just back from the BassMaster Open on Lake Toho in Florida. I encountered truly Terrible conditions during practice. One of my practice days put me on the lake during some of the worst weather I fished in a long time. The area had sustained winds of 25 to 30 mile an hour gusting over 40. I was out for more than 9 hours that day fighting the wind and cutting through the vegetation with my trolling motor that Toho is known for.

Not once did my trolling motor ever show that it was getting week from the batteries going down. At the end of the day I had just as much power to the trolling motor as I had at the start of the day.
It doesn't stop there when I got back to the motel room I plug the charger in and went into get some on my tackle ready for the next day and take a shower before we went out for dinner. When I come out to check on the boat as we were leaving for dinner to my amazement the batteries had already been fully charge.
The long lasting power of these batteries and the fast recharge rates make them a must-have for any serious anger. Oh did I mention that took almost 200 pounds of weight out of the back of my boat when I switch to Tims K2 batteries. Just another plus.
